Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C Recertification

This is an Occupational First Aid Level 2 (OFA2) equivalent course as recognized by WorkSafeBC, now known as the "Intermediate First Aid" requirement.

This course involves an classroom training only. 

Prerequisite for Recertifcation: Valid and non-expired certificate of the same title
Must be issued by an approved provider: Canadian Red Cross, Life Saving Society, Heart & Stroke, St. John's Ambulance or Canadian Ski Patrol

This course covers the following topics:

• The Red Cross
• Preparing to respond
• The EMS system
• Check, Call, Care
• Airway emergencies
• Breathing and Circulation emergencies
• First aid for respiratory and cardiac arrest
• Wound care
• Head, neck and spinal injuries
• Sudden Medical Emergencies
• Environmental Illnesses
• Poisons

Students will be provided with the skills needed to recognize and respond to CPR emergencies and choking for adults, children, and babies depending on the level of CPR chosen. All include using an automated external defibrillator (AED). Courses are suitable for those looking for training for the workplace or for their own general interest.

Participants must bring their previous Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C Certification Card to class.

Requirements for completion:

• Skills demonstration
• 100% attendance
• Grade of 75% on the test
• Previous SFA-CPR Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will receive:

• 3 Year Certification Card in Standard First Aid with CPR / AED Level C or
• 3 Year Certification Card in Standard First Aid with CPR / AED Level A
