What is Blended Learning?

Blended programs combine an interactive online course with in-class training.

The Blended course is an interactive online course that will build on your first aid theory and prepare you for practical training. You will read about specific first aid skills and watch videos demonstrating how these skills are performed. Once you complete the online component, you will be ready to move on to the classroom component. Your instructor will demonstrate how to apply the skills you have learned in real life situations and you will get the opportunity to practice these skills.

You must successfully complete both the online and the classroom components in order to receive your certificate. Please note that the online course should be completed before attending your in-class training. Our standard rescheduling and cancellation policies apply to Blended courses.

Can't Access Your Online Course?

Common issues we have seen include messages such as "Error ID", "Unauthorized Access", "Account Not Found" and "Medical Terminology". If you are experiencing such an issue, Red Cross advises that you try the following:

1. Confirm your Red Cross account email matches the one provided to Life Preservers; please create a new account with the correct email if not
2. Use a private or incognito window to log in
3. Use a different browser to login

If you get to this stage and none of the above works, you will have to contact Red Cross to reset your account. Please send a screenshot of your account issue to myrcsupport@redcross.ca and note that the steps above did not work.

You can also call Red Cross directly at 1-877-356-3226. Their business hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
