Which First Aid courses do you offer?
We offer a number of different courses - go to our classes page to see our full range. If you require a Red Cross or Lifesaving Society Course specifically, please indicate Red Cross or Lifesaving Society course beside your name in the registration box. Courses are based on courses registered for and Instructor availability.
I've lost my card! Can you send me a new one?
For a CPR/AED course, we can organise a replacement card for you right away. There is a replacement card fee, so please get in touch with us if you need your card replaced.
For any other course certified by the Lifesaving Society of BC (including Standard First Aid, Emergency First Aid, or Emergency Child Care) the cards can only be replaced by the Lifesaving Society. Please go to their website for more information.
I was given a temporary card. When will my official ticket arrive?
The official tickets are sent out by the Lifesaving Society of BC. As there is a high number of students being processed, this can take a few weeks. The temporary card you were given is valid for two months.
The official Red Cross ticket is emailed by Red Cross usually within 24-48 hours o your taking the class.
If it has been 60 days since your course date, you can follow up with the Lifesaving Society on their website to check on the status of your card.
I don't have my previous certificate. Can I still recertify?
We require at least a copy of the certificate to process a recertification. If you do not have a copy of the certificate from your previous first aid training, you will have to get a replacement.
If you took the first aid training with us but can't find your ticket, you can give our office a call to get the details, or arrange a replacement card.
Can I pay with cash or cheque?
Unfortunately not. Our training centres and our instructors do not have the resources to accept cash payments.
Can I drop in to a class without making a booking?
No. All of our classes must be booked ahead of time either online or over the phone, and paid for in advance. Many of our classes are filled to capacity and there is a limit to how many students can be certified at one time.
Can I make a booking for more than one person at a time?
Absolutely! If you would like to make a group booking in one of our regular classes, please get in touch with us to check our availability.
We are also available for corporate and large group bookings. If would like us to come to your workplace or facility, go to our on site training page for more information.
What if I need to reschedule my class?
If you wish to reschedule a class, an email notification must be received in our office 48 hours in advance of the class date. There is no additional cost associated with rescheduling a class as long as we have enough prior notice. Please email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org and someone from our team will contact you to confirm your new requested date.
What if I missed my class?
If a student fails to show up on the day of training, no refund or rescheduling options will be offered, as the instructors are paid in advance and many of our classes are filled to capacity. When a student fails to attend, they have taken a seat away from someone else who could have attended the class.
I've changed my mind. Can I get a refund?
Life Preservers First Aid has a strict no refund policy as a lot of effort goes into planning our courses and scheduling our instructors. However, if you contact us 48 hours in advance we would be more than happy to reschedule you to another convenient day, or hold a course credit for you.
What is a class merge?
Most of our courses run as scheduled, however, if an instructor is sick or enrollment is low, we may have to reschedule the class or combine the class with a group running in another facility. In this event you will have the option of rescheduling the class in your preferred location, or the option of obtaining a full refund. All of our classes run in the lower mainland and are within a twenty minute radius.
I've already got my CPR/AED certificate, but I need Emergency/Standard First Aid. Can I get a discount?
Unfortunately, no. We are not allowed to train anyone in First Aid without also training them in CPR/AED. We also need the exact same resources, such as course materials, space in a class, and an instructor.
Do you sell first aid kids and/or defibrillators?
We don't have them on the shelf, but can organise them for you. Please send an email to email@example.com if you would like to purchase a mask or a FIRST AID KIT.
What measures are you taking for COVID-19?
We take the safety of our staff and clients extremely seriously.
In order to ensure a safe environment, some of the measures we have put in place include limiting class sizes for social distancing, running Blended classes to reduce time spent onsite where applicable, minimizing contact between participants, and sanitizing and cleaning our studio space and equipment after each session.
In addition, all our staff are required to wear masks and/or face-shields and we ask that all participants bring a protective mask for the duration of the course. If you do not have one, we also have some available for purchase on site.
